All eyes have been on Kate Middleton since the engagement announcement to Prince William, and even more so since the royal wedding.  The world seems to be in agreement that Kate has great style and has already become a fashion icon -- she always looks sophisticated in a understated and fairly practical manner.  

One pair of shoes in particular have gained a lot of attention - the black, LK Bennett closed toe wedges she was photographed wearing shopping days before the wedding and on her way to the honeymoon the day after the big event. 

The shoes are a great choice as they look good with most outfits, and we all know how comfortable wedges are! The shiny leather and closed toe contrast with the rope wedge to give the shoes a dressier look than your standard rope wedge.  

While you can design your own shoes to match this style, we think they look even better with a brown wooden wedge. 

The brown wood coordinates a bit better with the shiny black leather and closed toe for a sleeker look, while still maintaining the casual feel of a wooden wedge. Perhaps we should encourage Kate to give designing her own wedges a whirl (or just send her our preferred pair!)
