The 2011 CDFA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards were held last night at Lincoln Center, NYC. Celebrities and Fashion Designers alike came out in full force!  

In our humble opinion, the most interesting choice was Lady Gaga winning the Style Icon award. While we absolutely love her and her crazy style, we aren't sure that makes her an icon. When we think STYLE icon, we think along the lines of Grace Kelly,  Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O.  Classic but stylish and unique in their own ways. Not quite sure Lady Gaga fits our definition. 

Proenza Schouler won for best Women's Designer of the year.

We LOVE that Marc Jacobs won the Lifetime Achievement award given his amazing clothes, shoes, bags, etc. for Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs and his work as Creative Director for Louis Vuitton. Though we also hate him a little for being so phenomenal. 

And Alexander Wang won for Best Women's Accessory Designer. We also really like him as his designs are truly cutting edge and unique.

Obviously there were some awards in men's categories as well, but we weren't so interested :)
