Fashion Week:  Day #3

Outfit:  Eggplant Joanna August wrap dress, leopard pony hair pumps

The shows are in full swing and I've found my groove!  Back and forth between the great space at MILK and the tents at Lincoln Center.

Jill Stuart -- So let's start with the fact that Kris Humphries and Scott Dissick are sitting front row... WITHOUT Kim and Kourtney.  I will never quite fully understand everyone's obsessions with all thing Kardashian.  It has surpassed any sort of rationale or reason... but I digress.  Back to Jill.  Her show was like being inside a vat of Magnolia frosting -- pinks, mint greens and pale yellows.

Next was Fashion Week's most favored son, Prabal Gurung.   More celebs stealing the show with appearances by Nicki Minaj and Amanda Seyfried.  Finding inspiration from Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, we saw crisscrossing belts, strappy shoes and vivid colors.   Lots of flouncy silk dresses with sheer tulle inserts.  Loved the Liz Phair soundtrack.

Ending the day was Monique Lhuillier's celeb heavy show (Mandy Moore and Leanne Rimes).  While the evening gowns were stunning, the model stumbling on the runway was the highlight.  Now, this is not a reflection of the collection, but rather a reflection of my inane, yet persistent, immaturity.  We didn't quite get the epic Carrie Bradshaw splatter, but this little stumble was as close as we got.  In addition, we also got fantastic lace detailing and graphic, paint-splattered pieces.

Today's shows have been the best so far.  Really seeing designers take risks and try new things...
