Being able to offer our customers animal friendly alternatives has been a priority for Milk & Honey since we started. We were so excited when Amber Valletta, fashion icon and animal lover, chose to create an animal friendly ankle boot as her exclusive design.
Amber first burst on the scene as a model hosting MTVs House of Style and gracing the cover of Vogue magazine. Her acting career has spanned from comedies with Will Smith to thrillers with Harrison Ford and romantic comedies with Kate Hudson and now currently starring as Lydia Davis on cult-fave (and our obsession!) Revenge.
Amber was excited about designing an ankle boot made entirely out of animal-free products. We created her design with faux suede and lined the entire boot in faux lining and used a compressed rubber bottom for the outersole. She selected a 5” heel with a .5” inside platform and subtle studded detailing along the heel and back of the shoe.
Says Amber, "I have always been a shoe-lover so I couldn't be more excited when approached with the opportunity to design my very own shoe. Then, when I learned that Milk & Honey would donate 100% of the profits from the shoe I designed to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), it was a no-brainer. Milk & Honey creates vegan shoes and IFAW is an organization dedicated to saving and protecting animals and animal habitats. I am very passionate about animals and very happy to help in any way I can."
Founded in 1969, the International Fund for Animal Welfare saves individual animals, animal populations and habitats all over the world. With projects in more than 40 countries, IFAW provides hands-on assistance to animals in need, whether it's dogs and cats, wildlife and livestock, or rescuing animals in the wake of disasters.
