While we still maintain that the best place in the world to shop is New York City, there are some specific things that we look forward to getting in other great cities. Before I was able to design my own shoes, I had a tough time finding shoes I liked (though surprisingly I still owned an obscene number of pairs.) I'm pretty tall, 5'9" (or 175 cm), so I don't like wearing heels over 3 inches. One reason being I'm tall enough, another is that I really enjoy walking and I like to be able to do that for long distances in my cute shoes (not flip flops.) And, you may have noticed in recent years that finding lower heels (unless they are custom shoes) isn't the easiest thing to do.

The Brits held on the practicality of the shorter heel longer than the rest of the world. I used to love buying shoes in London because 3 inch and under heels were in abundance. One of my favorite places was Kurt Geiger, great styles and lower heels. I'm not sure they continue to maintain that offering to the same extent they did, but the options are there. I really liked this funky display in one of their stores on a recent trip to London so thought I'd share. xo Ilissa
